Wokha, 1 November (MTNews): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Wokha organized a 2-day free Football Coaching Camp and exhibition match on 30 & 31 October 2023 at DBHSS Football Ground Wokha, under the initiative of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Kohima in collaboration with Nagaland Sports Association.
The event was organized as a part of SVEEP activities to create awareness among young students for new registration in the Electoral Roll. The Camp was conducted by a five-member team including AIFF certified coaches.
A total of 56 students including 48 boys and 8 girls from various schools and colleges participated in the camp. Speaking at the camp, Nuhuta Tunyi, SDO (C) Wokha & Nodal Officer SVEEP in his keynote address encouraged the young students in electoral participation by enrolling themselves in the Electoral Rolls and practicing clean election through informed and ethical voting.
A Help Desk on Voter Registration and Education Centre was provided at the venue to assist the youths with new registration. An exhibition match was played among the participants by forming four teams. The winners of the match were awarded with jerseys from the coaches.
