Wokha DPDB welcomes new chairman

The Wokha District Planning & Development Board welcomed its new DPDB Chairman & MLA, YM Humtsoe, during the monthly DPDB meeting held at the DC conference hall, Wokha, on July 19, 2024.

Humtsoe expressed gratitude to the State Government for appointing him as the chairman of DPDB, Wokha. He appealed to all the board members to extend full cooperation for the successful implementation of government policies and schemes for the benefit of the district. He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing chairman and Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, for transforming the board into a robust and active entity and bringing many changes to the district during his tenure.

The new Chairman also directed all the Heads of Offices in the district to attend the board meetings regularly so that no board members receive adverse remarks while serving in the district.

While felicitating the newly elected Wokha Town Council (ULB) members during the meeting, the chairman congratulated them and appealed to them to give their best to bring change in the district.

The board also felicitated the winners of the recently concluded Nagaland Olympic 2024 in various disciplines representing Wokha district.

SP Wokha, Aotula T Imchen (IPS), highlighted the introduction of new criminal laws to the members. The board also approved and recommended the following societies for registration with the government: Integer Society Pangti, Wokha District Areca Nut Growers Association, Longzu Welfare Society Chukitong, and Wokha District Athletics Association. The board discussed and approved the schemes under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2024-25.

While reviewing the minutes of the last meeting, the board expressed their concerns about the progress on the damaged portion of the Wokha-Merapani road, where the NHIDCL had assured the board that the restoration and repair of the roads would be taken up within 10 days. In this regard, the board urged the company to take up the project earnestly at the earliest.
