Wokha, 9 November (MTNews): The Department of Social Welfare organized a one-day awareness seminar on substance abuse for various child care institutions, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), and stakeholders of Wokha District, namely the Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, and staff of child care institutions, etc., on 9 November 2023.
Ketho Angami, founder and director of ARK Foundation, spoke elaborately about understanding addiction and also on the prevention and management of substance abuse. In addition, Shanchobeni from ARK Foundation spoke on the nature and type of substance abuse counseling in a CCI setup. Mary Swuro, protection officer (NIC), chaired the program, while Dr Moasenla Imchen, DCPO Wokha, gave the welcome note, followed by Lanuchuba, Protection Officer (IC), who delivered the vote of thanks.
