The Wokha District Administration’s innovative initiative, the Wokha SAATHI (Smart AI-based Assistant for Timely Help & Interface) WhatsApp Chatbot, has been awarded the “Gold Award” in the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2023-2024. This accolade was presented at the 27th National Conference on e-Governance held in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on September 3, 2024 by Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
This recognition is a significant milestone, marking the first time an initiative from Nagaland has received a Gold Award for its exemplary contribution to e-Governance. The award underscores the state’s commitment to leveraging technology for efficient governance and improving public service delivery, an update from DIPR stated.
The award and certificate were received by Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS, Rohit Singh IAS, and Anuranjan Singh, Mahatma Gandhi National Fellow (MGNF), on behalf of the Wokha District Administration. Under this initiative, more than 40 services have been integrated into the Wokha District Administration’s one-stop chatbot.
The Wokha SAATHI WhatsApp Chatbot provides timely assistance and serves as a user-friendly interface for residents, ensuring easy access to vital information and services. It also enables proactive Information Education Campaign (IEC) through two-way communication between the government and citizens on a 24×7 basis.
