Bhopal, 28 May: A case has been registered by the Koh-e-Fiza police against a 26-year-old man and his mother on multiple charges including abduction, rape, assault, and forced religious conversion. The complaint was filed by a 21-year-old woman from Nagaland.

The woman alleged that she was befriended by the accused through a social media platform and subsequently brought to Bhopal. There, she was kept in a live-in relationship and subjected to physical exploitation, TOI reported.

The investigating officer, SI Pradeep Gurjar, provided details about the incident. The woman, who runs a boutique and hails from Nagaland, came into contact with the accused, Krishnapal (also known as Rakesh Kori), approximately a year ago. Krishnapal, a mason from Ganj Basoda in Vidisha, initiated communication with her through a social media platform. Their friendship developed over time, leading to his proposal of marriage. Upon her agreement, he brought her to Bhopal and rented a room in the Koh-e-Fiza locality, where they began living together.

According to SI Gurjar, the woman claimed that Krishnapal’s behavior changed after a few days. He started drinking and would physically assault her while under the influence. Subsequently, he took her to his hometown in Ganj Basoda, where his mother also mistreated her. Krishnapal and his mother then coerced her into converting her religion in order to marry him. Frustrated with the constant harassment, the woman approached the Koh-e-Fiza police and filed a complaint.
