YWCA undertakes IEC Awareness Activity on JJM
The Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Mokokchung, an Implementation Support Agency (ISA) Mokokchung flagged off the second phase on ‘IEC Awareness Activity on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM)’ under Mokokchung Division under JJM Support Activity from 27th May 2022, an update by the YWCA said.
The main goal of the IEC campaign on JJM is to enable and empower the rural community to be involved, have a greater sense of ownership and to take a more active role in shouldering the responsibility of effectively managing the water and sanitation system in the villages.
The ISA encourages participation of women in planning and management of rural water supply and sanitation programs, the update said. It further said that women NGOs should also involve and participate in awareness campaigns since women are the most affected section in society in matters concerning water and sanitation.
“The ISA further gives importance towards positive behavioral changes among stakeholders with respect to hygiene, use of safe drinking water and sanitation details,” the update said.
