A wooden plank dwelling house was completely destroyed in a fire that broke out at Tsupilemjen sector under Settsü Village on Sunday evening, officials said. Firefighters deployed three water tenders and brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby houses.
According to Officer-in-Charge of the Fire Department, Mokokchung, Keleseho Stephen Tsukru, the fire alarm was received at around 3:49 pm. The cause of the fire had not been ascertained at the time of filing this report.
Following the alert, three fire tenders from the South Fire Station, Mokokchung, were pressed into action. The firefighting operation was led by Sub-Inspector Nukenmayang Jamir, Officer-in-Charge, along with 11 personnel.
Despite efforts to contain the flames, the wooden dwelling house owned by Temsutoshi was completely razed in the incident. Fire officials said the estimated property loss was approximately Rs 15 lakh.
No casualties or injuries were reported. The details were shared by Fire Department authorities following an inquiry into the incident.
