A workshop-cum-training on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) functionality was organized by the Department of Industries & Commerce, in collaboration with the GeM User Facilitator, at the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Kohima, on 12th September 2024.

GeM is an online platform for public procurement of common-use goods and services required by various departments, organizations, and PSUs. Launched on 9th August 2016 by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in public procurement.

The Director of Industries & Commerce, P Tokugha Sema, gave the inaugural address, followed by the technical session. Supriti Priya, the trainer for GeM and the main resource person, gave a presentation on an overview of GeM, its benefits, and the registration and procurement processes, followed by a discussion session.
