Workshop on packaging, branding, and marketing held for Nagaland MSMEs 

The Department of Industries and Commerce, in collaboration with Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), successfully conducted a two-day workshop on “Dedicated Workshop on Packaging, Branding, and Marketing with the Experts” under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme. The event, held at Tetso College, Chümoukedima, on March 27 and 28, equipped 107 trainees on the first day and 72 trainees on the second day with essential skills in branding, packaging, and marketing.

The workshop aimed to enhance the market competitiveness of enterprises in Nagaland by bringing in industry experts for hands-on training. Among the resource persons were Sasha Keneivonuo, Branding and Marketing Consultant (former AVP Marketing at Lenskart, ex-Head of Digital Strategy at Good Glamm Group), who led sessions on branding; Neha Kumari, Marketing & Social Media Consultant (ex-Social Media Marketing & Growth Lead at Lenskart), who focused on marketing strategies; and Vinay Gupta, Founder of Dots & Squares Design, who covered packaging design and sustainability.

The inaugural session was chaired by Er Keneirienuo T Zatsu, Deputy Director of Industries and Commerce, who introduced the experts and outlined the objectives of the workshop. K Francis Hekavi, Joint Director of Industries and Commerce, attended as the special guest and emphasized the importance of branding, packaging, and marketing in driving business growth. He stated that strong branding and well-designed packaging are critical in making a lasting impression and determining a product’s success in the market.

On the first day, participants were introduced to marketing fundamentals, consumer engagement strategies, and industry best practices. Branding expert Sasha Keneivonuo conducted sessions on personal branding, brand storytelling, and framework development, guiding participants in creating strong brand identities.

The second day focused on packaging and marketing strategies, with Vinay Gupta leading discussions on logo design, tagline development, and sustainable packaging solutions. Meanwhile, Neha Kumari conducted interactive sessions on consumer insights, digital marketing, social media engagement, and influencer marketing, providing participants with practical tools to enhance their brand visibility.

The workshop featured interactive discussions, expert Q&A sessions, and hands-on exercises, equipping Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nagaland with actionable insights to expand their market reach and improve their business strategies.

About the RAMP Scheme
The Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme is a World Bank-supported initiative by the Government of India aimed at improving MSMEs’ access to credit, markets, and capacity-building opportunities. As MSMEs in Nagaland continue to grow, workshops like this play a crucial role in strengthening their competitiveness by fostering innovation in packaging, branding, and marketing.

The initiative is expected to create new opportunities for local enterprises to build their brand, reach wider markets, and adopt consumer-friendly packaging practices, contributing to the overall economic development of the state.
