Workshop on UNNATI 2024 and Export Awareness held in Mokokchung

A District Level Awareness Workshop on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI 2024) and Export Awareness was successfully organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce at the Sangtemla Multipurpose Hall, Mokokchung on January 14.The workshop was graced by Thsuvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, as the special guest.

In her welcome address, B Asangla, General Manager of District Industries Center (DIC) Mokokchung, highlighted the challenges in Nagaland’s Industrial Development, citing infrastructural deficits as a significant barrier to progress. She described the UNNATI 2024 scheme, which targets Industrial growth and economic development in the northeastern states, aiming to foster entrepreneurship as a driver of growth. Asangla underscored the need for awareness to preach existing gaps and encourage broader participation in economic activities.

Special guest Thsuvisie Phoji, in his keynote address, acknowledged the unique challenges faced by entrepreneurs in Nagaland, such as geographical isolation and infrastructure constraints, which have historically hindered the implementation of national-level schemes. He emphasized that UNNATI 2024 is tailored for the Northeast, urging participation to leverage its benefits. Phoji stressed the transformative potential of the scheme in promoting entrepreneurship and improving the district and state’s economic standing.

The workshop included a presentation on export procedures and documentation by Renbenthung Kikon, Inspector, DIC Mokokchung, and a session on the DAK Niryat Kendra by I Narola Jamir from the Post Office, Alichen. Nongsheba Lamliu, Functional Manager, DIC Mokokchung, elaborated on the benefits and opportunities under the UNNATI 2024 scheme.

The programme ended with an interactive session, moderated by Imsongmeren, Inspector from the Directorate of Industries and Commerce. (DPRO Mokokchung)
