Dimapur, 27 February (MTNews) : On the occasion of World NGO Day, Dimapur 24/7 conducted a workshop at Ark Hostel, Chumukedima on Thursday, February 27, focusing on education, mental health, and menstrual hygiene. The event, aimed at raising awareness on these critical issues, was hosted by Annie Jain, Chairperson of Dimapur 24/7.


The workshop featured discussions led by executive members. Uday Kumar Sah, a teacher by profession, emphasized the role of education in shaping a brighter future, stating, “Education is the foundation of progress, and empowering students with knowledge is key to their success.

Education is not only about finding jobs as society teaches us, but also to help us become well-rounded human beings.”

Nivi Aye, executive member of Dimapur 24/7, addressed menstrual hygiene, highlighting its importance for overall health and well-being. “Menstrual hygiene should not be a taboo subject. Open discussions and awareness can help young girls manage their health better,” she stated.

Rahul Dutta, a journalist, spoke on the mental health challenges faced young people, stressing the need for awareness and support. “Addressing mental health is just as important as physical health. Students should have access to safe spaces where they can express their concerns,” he noted.

Chairperson Annie Jain spoke on the collective responsibility of society in addressing these issues. “Education, mental health, and menstrual hygiene are interconnected aspects of a student’s well-being. Awareness and dialogue can create lasting change,” she said.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session, encouraging students to voice their thoughts and concerns among one another, and also with their teachers and parents. The workshop focused on the need to reach out and not be ashamed of their struggles, their thoughts and feelings.
