Mokokchung, 20 March (MTNews): Along with the rest of the world, the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) Mokokchung observed the World Oral Health Day on 20 March 2024 under the theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Body” at Government High School, Mokokchung Village.
During a short observation programme, the theme speaker Dr K Tiasenla, Dental Surgeon, IMDH highlighted the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth and its benefit for the body. She also advised the students to stay away from chewing of harmful tobacco substances like Pan Masala and smoking as it leads to harmful diseases.
As part of the observation, the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) organized a poster competition and essay competition based on the theme among the school students. Miss Imlinaro of class 10 bagged the 1st Position in essay competition and Miss Putisenla of class 8 bagged the 1st position in Poster competition. The winners were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.
The programme was chaired by Ms Nungsangnaro, G/T Mokokchung village, welcome address by Ms Watinaro G/T and benediction was pronounced by Ms A Watinaro G/T.
