WRD officers and staff attend capacity-building workshop on service and accounts matters

A two-day capacity-building workshop on Service and Accounts Matters for officers and staff of the Water Resources Department (WRD) is currently underway at the Chief Engineer’s Conference Hall in Kohima, starting on December 2, 2024.

In her keynote address, Executive Engineer Wapangnaro Imchen urged department officials to leverage the training program to learn key government service rules and procedures from the resource persons. She emphasized the importance of maintaining organized records, filing systems, and transparency in handling departmental files, especially for newly recruited staff. Imchen also encouraged officials to embrace the training as an opportunity to foster a strong work culture and prepare for audits by the Accountant General, the Treasuries & Accounts Department, and the Central Government Audit team.

Imchen further highlighted the department’s ongoing efforts to provide training in GIS, technology, and updated software, urging officials to take advantage of these opportunities to improve their practical skills. She thanked the resource persons for their contributions and expressed gratitude to Chief Engineer K. Hutoi Sema for organizing the annual capacity-building program.

On the first day, Khinyi Woch, retired Senior Accounts Officer from Treasuries & Accounts, led a session on maintaining employee records, pension processing, and audit matters. Other resource persons include Limatemsu, Senior TO from Treasury & Accounts, and Andress Lotha, Deputy Secretary of Economic and Statistics. The program was chaired by SDO Er Kevithoukho Lhousa.
