Warn members against involvement, reaffirm existing resolutions
The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) and the Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) have issued a strong objection to the proposed formation of a new body called the Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF), calling it a threat to previously agreed resolutions and local jurisdictions.
At a joint coordination meeting held on Saturday at the WSH Hiyam, Chekiye Village, both youth organizations deliberated on “the impending issues confronting our society especially on the issue of mushrooming organizations in our present Naga society.”
The meeting was convened following reports that “some group of likeminded persons organized a meeting with the intent to form a youth body namely, Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF),” intended to cover Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland districts.
WSYF and CYO reaffirmed their support for the joint resolution adopted by the Chakhroma Public Organisation and Western Sumi Hoho on July 17, 2020, and another passed by CYO and WSYF on October 23, 2024. “The two youth bodies… expressed its strong opposition against the efforts of certain likeminded persons with the intent of forming the so called Western Naga Youth Front,” the communiqué read.
Declaring their position unequivocally, the organizations stated they “resolved not to allow any group of persons to form such organization or youth bodies within its jurisdiction.”
Further, both youth bodies issued a clear warning to their members: “The two bodies further direct all its members not to participate or affiliate in any form in the formation of such organisation failing which stern action shall be initiated against defaulters.”
Members were also urged “to respect and uphold the resolutions undertaken by both parent bodies as well as the Chakhroma Youth Organisation and Western Sumi Youth Front.”
The formation of the Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) seems to be causing significant tension among existing youth organizations. It’s concerning how this new body could disrupt the unity and agreements already in place. The joint meeting between WSYF and CYO highlights their commitment to preserving their resolutions and jurisdictions. Their strong opposition to WNYF reflects their determination to maintain stability. Why is there such a strong resistance to the formation of this new organization? Given the growing economic instability due to the events in the Middle East, many businesses are looking for guaranteed fast and secure payment solutions. Recently, I came across LiberSave (LS) — they promise instant bank transfers with no chargebacks or card verification. It says integration takes 5 minutes and is already being tested in Israel and the UAE. Has anyone actually checked how this works in crisis conditions?
