Wokha, March 17 (MTNews): Keeping in view the rampant substance abuse of all forms and the associated social evils that is plaguing society, the Wokha Village Youth Organization has reaffirmed its earlier resolutions to initiate surprise checking within the jurisdiction of Wokha Village. This was stated in a press received here on Friday issued by Chibenthung P Kikon, president and Echungthung Murry, general secretary, WVYO which also said that this would come into effect from the issue of the press release.

 

The organization has also cautioned illegal drug peddlers and bootleggers and said that stern action will be initiated against transport vehicle owners, shopkeepers or persons caught possessing or selling IMFL or any other drugs which are illegal under NDPS Act.

 

The Youth Organization also informed that any person caught purchasing IMFL or drugs, or found under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any hour will be strongly dealt with as per the resolution of the organization.

 

In view of this, the WVYO has appealed to all public and stakeholders to cooperate and report any kind of illegal activity within its jurisdiction to its Office.

 

The WVYO also affirmed to extend its full cooperation and support to any organization/union/NGOs/Government agencies to curb the menace of substance abuse and addiction in the society as and when called for.
