Mokokchung,October 5 (MTNews): The Gear Thrills cycling club in collaboration with Fazl Ali College, Chuchuyimpang organized the 2nd edition of XCE 2.0 at Chuchuyimpang Village under Mokokchung District with Rongsentoshi Jamir, President of Mokokchung District Martial Arts Association gracing the occasion as the guest of honour.

 

 

During a brief exhortation, Rongsentoshi Jamir said that cycling was proven to be very helpful in keeping one healthy and fit. He further went on to encourage the participants citing the example of Tour De France stating that cycling has a wide spectrum of opportunities not only in the district or state but nationally as well as internationally.

 

He observed that parents often expect their children to procure a Govt. Job however he urged the participants to make their parents proud by bringing laurels through the sport in  their name.

 

During a brief speech, Tia Mollier, Assistant Professor, speaking on behalf of the collaborator FAC stated that Games and Sports should also be given priority in a youth’s life rather than just bookish knowledge as games and sports also have a wide range of opportunities. He also thanked the organizers for choosing FAC as a collaborator in their noble initiative of promoting cycling in Mokokchung.

 

During the event, Pekindibo Nring bagged the first position while Nodeto ZaoZao and Liden Imsong bagged the second and third positions respectively. Awards were also presented to the Youngest participant, Imtionen Longkumer and Most Promising Rider: Ozim
