The Rising People’s Party has today announced a ‘partial modification’ to its live debate challenge by saying that the debate challenge is “not NDPP specific.” RPP said that it would love to debate all the UDA coalition partners, including the NDPP, BJP, NPF and the Independent MLAs, at the same time, “if the NDPP is uneasy participating in the debate alone.” Apart from the “delightful situation,” RPP added that this would save everyone the time and the hassle of organizing a debate. RPP said that, on their part, they have already identified the Moderator for the debate and that only the date and setting needs to be settled.
The Rising People’s Party had on 12th May 2022 met the Governor of Nagaland and demanded President’s Rule in Nagaland on financial emergency grounds, which it said was caused by unabated and brazen corruption over the years. “Needless to say, President’s Rule entails dismissal of the UDA coalition – made up of NDPP, BJP, NPF and the two Independent MLAs,” RPP said.
RPP also said that, from the UDA coalition, only the NDPP responded, “taking umbrage at RPP’s demand for President’s Rule” after which the RPP challenged the respondent to a debate. RPP also said that the debate challenge was offered “since paper war doesn’t serve any purpose at all other than confusing the readers.”
RPP also added that the coalition partners may get in touch with them without delay. “Delay causes all kinds of unwarranted speculations, and it’s in everyone’s interest that the answer is either a YES or a NO,” RPP said.
