Mokokchung, October 11 (MTNews): As part of their humanitarian service to afflicted people under the Assam Flood Response 2022, Caritas India in collaboration with YMCA Madras and YMCA, North Eastern Region donated food kits along with financial assistance to the flood affected families of Deramukh under Satgaon Parish, West Karbi Anglong District, Assam on 8th October 2022.
The flood affected families were given away the relief materials during a brief function which was organized at Deramukh and graced by Dr. Vincent George, President of Madras YMCA and Chairman, Southern Region of YMCAs India as the Chief Guest and Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, President of Nagaland YMCA and Vice Chairman of North Eastern Region of YMCA as the Guest of Honour.
Caritas India and its partner organizations including the YMCA have been carrying out relief operations in India’s northeastern state of Assam after it was devastated by floods leading to hundreds of families being rendered homeless and displaced. Flood relief operations were launched two weeks ago by extending food and nutrition, water sanitation and hygiene besides shelter and non-food item support. The distributed kits include food, water, dry rations and medicine along with an emergency shelter.
