The Town Hall in Mokokchung was abuzz with enthusiasm as Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, in collaboration with the District Administration, organized the Youth Festival (Yuva Utsav) under the theme “Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal.” The event, held on Wednesday, aimed to instill patriotic feelings in the minds of the youth, recognizing their significance as the future of the nation.

As the guest speaker, Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, urged the young participants to seize the opportunity to showcase their talents. He emphasized the importance of such platforms for the development of their skills and encouraged them to take courage in pursuing their passions.

 

Highlighting the government’s objective to harness the potential of the youth in nation-building, District Youth Officer of NYK, Mokokchung, ST Haokip, delivered the keynote address. He emphasized that India, as a young nation, derives its strength from its youth and expressed the government’s commitment to supporting their growth and participation in shaping the nation’s future.

 

The program was chaired by Sentirenla Ozukum, NYV. Imtijungla, NYV expressed gratitude on behalf of the organizing committee in her vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of all participants and supporters.

 

Earlier in the day, the Youth Festival featured a range of competitions, including painting, poetry, photography, cultural presentations, and a declamation contest. The winners in each category were announced as follows:

Painting:

2nd Place: Tialong Imchen
3rd Place: Imkongmar
Consolation prize: Chingmak
