The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Task Force, Zunheboto, Dharam Raj (IAS), has reiterated the ban on the use of single-use plastic (SUP) carry bags, irrespective of their micron thickness, across Zunheboto district.

In an order issued in continuation of the earlier office order dated August 1, 2024, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the ban on all single-use plastic carry bags and single-use plastic bottles used for packaging water and soft drinks below one litre will continue to remain in force throughout the district.

The order further stated that penalties, as decided by the District Task Force, will be imposed on violators for the first and second offences. In the event of subsequent offences, the permit or licence of the defaulting establishment will be liable for cancellation.
