Kohima, November 14 (MTNews): A team of 12 members from the World Bank arrived on November 13 for a four-day visit to Nagaland. The World Bank Team held a meeting with the Core Committee & Technical Committee for implementation of Enhancing Landscape and Ecosystem Management (ELEMENT) project on November 14 under the chairmanship of Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland in his Office Conference Hall, Kohima.

 

 

12-member World Bank held a meeting with Core Committee & Technical Committee for implementation of ELEMENT project at Agriculture Production Commissioner’s Office Conference Hall, Kohima 14th November 2022.

 

The members deliberated on the overview, concept, scope, preparedness, Government approvals, rationale, economic analysis, DEA readiness filter, and timelines of the project. Moreover, there was a threadbare discussion on managing procurement, finance management, contract and environment and social safeguards in the World Bank-funded projects.

 

After the meeting, the team had another meeting with the Land Resources Department at the LRD Conference Hall, Kohima. They also visited the GIS Campus and held a meeting with the GIS Team.

 

On November 15, the team will be divided into two groups and will visit the Jhum field at Chiechama, Naga Integrated Settled Farming-NISF project at Boke-Botsa, Sendenyu Community Biodiversity Reserve, Khonoma terrace field, traditional agroforestry field, and biodiversity conserved areas at Dzuleke. In the evening, the team is proposed to have a meeting with the Environment, Forest & Climate Change Department.

 

On November 16, the team will have a coordination meeting with all Agri & Allied Departments including four Missions, Rural Development Department and Environment, Forest & Climate Change Department at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall at 10.30 AM. In the afternoon, they will meet Chief Secretary, Nagaland and have a wrap-up meeting at APC’s Conference Hall.

 

The World Bank team will depart on November 17 after visiting Nagaland Bamboo Mission, Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission, and Organic AC Market in Chumoukedima.
