Mokokchung, September 26 (MTNews): A fifteen day Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDP) on Food Processing began at Aitlenden Community Hall Tuli, Mokokchung on September 26, 2022. The training is sponsored by NABARD and organized by the Community Educational Centre Society.

Samuel Therieh, Program Officer, Life Ministry Learning Centre, Dimapur graced the inaugural program in the presence of S. Amarjit Mangang DDM NABARD; Temsunungsang, Aitlenden Ward Chairman and Subonenba Longkumer, Director CECS.

 

Speaking on the program, S. Amarjit Mangang, DDM NABARD shared on the initiatives NABARD have taken up to promote sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development. He also shared the importance of MEDP in enhancing and upgrading existing skills and new skills for the SHGs members and also stated that the training will help the SHGs in the aspects of overall management of micro enterprises.

 

Officially inaugurating the training program, Samuel Therieh, Program Officer, Life Ministry Learning Centre, Dimapur encouraged the SHGs members to grab the training opportunity for experiencing and learning new skills which would later help them to generate sustainable income.

 

After the inaugural program, Introduction to Food Processing and the usage of right preservation was conducted by Alemla Samuel, LMLC as resource person.
The program was chaired by Zimik Tamreichan and altogether 30 SHGs members attended the meeting.
