The 3rd edition of the Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup 2025 saw 164 TA (Naga) emerge victorious, defeating nine other top teams from the Northeast.
In an electrifying final match between 164 TA (Naga) and 165 TA (Assam), football fans were treated to a thrilling spectacle at the picturesque Laitkor Garrison, Shillong on March 28. The clash between the Naga Head Hunters and their rivals, the Assam Terriers, kept spectators on the edge of their seats from the very first whistle.
The high-stakes match remained tightly contested, with the score locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time. The battle extended into extra time, where 164 TA (Naga) struck the decisive blow, scoring the winner in the first minute of extra time to claim the prestigious title. The champions were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,50,000.
The tournament featured commendable performances from ten teams representing Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, HQ DGAR, 164 Naga TA, and 165 Assam TA, showcasing the vibrant footballing spirit of Northeast India.
