Mokokchung, October 17 (MTNews): A 3-day Global Conclave organized by Asia Pacific Peace Research Association (APPRA) in collaboration with Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) and University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) was held in USTM from October 10-13.

 

An update received here said that the conclave was attended by delegates and participants from across India and several countries, including Germany, South Africa, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Nepal, Bangladesh and Turkey.
Prof. Christian Bartolf, President, Gandhi Information Centre, Berlin, Germany addressed the international conference on redefining peace at USTM.

 

From Nagaland, Aien Amri of NPG Nagaland was a team member of local organizers where she along with Dr Leban Serto, Center for Peace Education Manipur (CFPEM) donated T-shirts and caps to all the delegates of the conference.

 

The update informed that, starting from last year, Aien Amri and team planted more than 10k Moringa saplings in South East Asia in collaboration with CFPEM and have planted at least 50k+ Moringa trees in South East Asia by this year. She was also a moderator in Northeast East India dialogue and presented a joint paper along with Dr Leban Serto, Father Walter Fernandas, Major Sonneijier Aimol, and Thomas Menamparampil. She was also seen receiving an award in the conclave from Professor Aslam Khan.

 

Rev Kari Longchar also contributed on the theme Peace Education and regenerative sustainability.
Over all there were 150 papers presented and 300 participants. It was held both offline and online. There were participants from all over India and 54 countries.
