Kohima, 15 June (MTNews): The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has evaluated a total of 69 colleges in Nagaland, comprising 15 government colleges and 54 private colleges. Of these, NAAC has already accredited 35 colleges, with 13 being government institutions and 22 private institutions. The remaining 34 colleges in Nagaland are currently undergoing the NAAC assessment process to obtain accreditation.
NAAC is a Government Organization in India that assesses and accredits higher education institutions to derive an understanding of the “Quality” status of the institute. It is an autonomous body funded by the University Grants Commission and headquartered in Bangalore.
NAAC has played a significant role in the growth and development of Higher Education in India. Its efforts have led to the improvement of the quality of education in the country and it continues to work towards promoting excellence in institutions of Higher Education.
