The third edition of the Nagaland Potato Festival 2026 was held at Jakhama Village Ground on May 15, highlighting the agri-trade potential of potato cultivation in the state.

Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Minister for Women Resource Development and Horticulture, inaugurated the festival as the special guest.
The programme was hosted by Visakunu Tetso and Vikhehiezo Kulnu, while Rev Zapovil Sophie, Senior Pastor of Jakhama Baptist Church, offered the invocation. Kehochol Tase, Chairman of Jakhama Village Council, delivered the welcome address, followed by greetings from Kevipodi Sophie, MLA and Chairman of DPDB Kohima.
Dr Keviu Shüya, Deputy Project Director, ATMA Kohima, delivered the keynote address on the importance and trade potential of potato farming in Nagaland.
Short speeches were also delivered by Veyielo Doulo, Director of Tourism, and the Commanding Officer of the 7th Battalion Madras Regiment, Jakhama Military Station.
The programme concluded with a stall visit showcasing potato products and agricultural innovations.
