The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has announced that the 3rd Quarterly National Lok Adalat (People’s Courts) for 2025 will be observed in all district headquarters on 13th September. Eleven Lok Adalat benches will be set up by the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) across the state.

As per the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and the National Legal Services Authority (Lok Adalats) Regulations, 2009, it is customary to conduct four National Lok Adalats each year to settle pre-litigation and pending cases. Cases taken up typically include civil and compoundable criminal matters such as National Insurance Act cases under Section 138, money recovery, motor accident claims, labor disputes, public utility disputes, matrimonial/family disputes (excluding divorce), land acquisition, service matters including pensions, revenue matters, IPR and consumer disputes, and other civil cases like rent and injunction suits.

The 2nd Quarter NLA, held on 10th May 2025, disposed of 219 cases with a settlement amount of Rs. 2,38,99,111 out of 290 cases taken up.
