The initiative connected more than 450 students from colleges and institutes across Nagaland during the UNIQLO Xperience Day on August 21. This was followed by a Hiring Day on September 11, where more than 130 candidates registered and over 90 appeared for interviews.

The Xperience Day featured interactive sessions, a company presentation and addresses by UNIQLO India COO Yuichiro Kaneko and Advisor to the Chief Minister and IDAN Chairman Abu Metha. Students also explored LifeWear products and learned about the technology, Japanese work culture, workplace values and work-life environment of the company.

The initiative provided participants an opportunity to understand UNIQLO and its work culture before entering the recruitment process. Following the interviews and selection process, 41 candidates were chosen to join the company’s retail team.

The collaboration has provided young people in Nagaland with both exposure to an international apparel brand and an opportunity to pursue careers with the company.
