Sovima, 27 March (MTNews): Wokha beat Tseminyu by 140 runs in the first match played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium during the ongoing 4th Late G Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Tournament 2024. Wokha managed to score a defendable total of 169 runs after being put in to bat first. Liren Jungio 22 runs, Mharen 19 runs and Renben Kikon 17 runs were the major run contributors for Wokha.

For Tseminyu, Gwakenye Khing with 4 wickets, Achyelo Semp and Sonyelo Kent with 2 wickets each, and Yhunilo Kent and Sobinlo Semy with 1 wicket restricted Wokha to 169 in 29.1 overs.
Tseminyu innings was cut short by Meribemo Kikon who fetched an impressive 5 wicket haul and Shahil who took the first hat-trick of the tournament as they bundled Tseminyu out for a mere 29 runs in 11.3 overs. For Tseminyu, only Sonyelo Kent 18* runs was able to score a double figure.
In the second match played at Sovima Cricket Ground, Zunheboto defeated Peren by 5 wickets. Peren after having won the toss elected to bat first but could not capitalize their innings as they lost wicket at regular intervals and were bowled out for 53 runs in 22.5 overs. Anurag with 21 runs was the lone notable contributor for Peren. For Zunheboto, Rahul and Raja bagged 3 wickets each while Aarush took 2 wickets and Oloka pocketed a wicket.
In reply, Zunheboto had a shaky start as they lost five quick wickets. However, Raja 24* runs took Zunheboto for a comfortable win in 14 overs. With this win, Zunheboto booked their spot for the semifinal.
