Mokokchung, 19 March (MTNews): A five-day Block Level in-service Teachers Training on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) is underway in Mokokchung, organized by the Office of the District Education Officer, Mokokchung. This training, conducted under the auspices of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, is scheduled to take place from 18 to 22 March 2024 at the Penli Ward Community Hall.

The opening day of the training commenced with an introductory program chaired by the Coordinator of EBRC Mokokchung Village. Jonglemdong, the Joint Director of the Department of School Education (DoSE) Nagaland, delivered the keynote address.

He emphasized the crucial role of teachers in acquiring knowledge, skills, and capabilities to support the comprehensive development of children during their early years. He underscored the importance of providing quality early childhood care and education to foster physical, cognitive, psychomotor, social, and emotional development, highlighting that 85% of brain development occurs during the first eight years of a child’s life.

The five-day training on ECCE and FLN will be conducted across various educational blocks in the district from 18 to 22 March 2024. These sessions will take place at the following venues: Mokokchung Village, Khensa, Kubolong, Changtongya ‘B’, Mangkolemba-II, and Watiyim.
