Tushikaba, General Secretary, FACSU, gave the welcome address, where he gave an overview of the event, stating that this annual event was launched in 2018 under the guidance of Dr Lanurenla, Head of English Department. This three-day event is a platform to showcase the talents of the students and encourage skill development while providing an outlet for their creativity.

Chumlamo Humtsoe, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, the special guest for the inaugural event, spoke on how creativity exercises our imagination and helps us in practical judgment and in seeking solutions.

Day I of the event witnessed debate, poetry, and dance competitions. The debate competition was held on the topic “Oppositionless Government in Nagaland is Mockery,” where ten participants spoke for and against the motion.

Tiarenla, leader of the opposition team, said in her concluding remark that an oppositionless government in Nagaland is needed in order to avoid conflict among the diverse tribes, cultures, and traditions. She pointed out that village councils can be a medium through which issues can be voiced for the people. She also commented that Nagaland state has many social issues and problems, and, therefore, to remove rivalries and promote brotherhood and sisterhood, an oppositionless government is essential.

Speaking for the motion, Asensor Jamir, the leader of the team, said in his concluding remark that the oppositionless government in Nagaland is a failed experiment that should be done away with since it is not working and seems pointless. He also remarked that the present oppositionless government is more powerful than ever, but there is a lack of progress and change in the state, and the lack of action speaks volumes as to why an oppositionless government is a mockery of democracy.

On the first day of the event, the campus was filled with stalls hosting games and selling food items. Day two of the event will witness a Quiz competition, FAC Roadie, Still Life Sketching and Upcycled Fashion Show along with a presentation from Amoklushi Girls Hostel.
