Mokokchung, August 2 (MTNews): Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has thanked Tamil Nadu chief minister, MK Stalin, for donating 10,000 square feet of land in Rabakkam village, Wallaja taluk, Ranipet district to the Nagaland government free of cost in order to build a guesthouse for residents from Nagaland seeking medical treatment at Christian medical college campuses in Vellore and Ranipet districts. In a letter to his Tamil Nadu counterpart, Rio wrote, “this will provide much-needed help to the Naga patients travelling to Vellore to avail medical facilities.”
It may be recalled that earlier in February this year, Rio had written to Stalin about the problems and hardship faced by patients from Nagaland seeking medical treatment in Vellore and Chennai. Rio had then sought allotment of a plot of land to build a guesthouse citing lack of proper accommodation as one of the main problems faced by patients from Nagaland.
This was followed by a follow-up meeting between Nagaland Housing and Mechanical Minister Tongpang Ozukum and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin on February 14.
