Kohima, August 13 (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas C, IAS in a notice stated that there has been some “misinformation” spreading in certain sections of the population in and around Kohima district regarding distribution of National Flag of India claiming that directions have been given for mandatory hoisting of the Tricolour in individual households, shops, etc. in view of the Government of India’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.

In this connection, the DC has clarified and reiterated the statement made during the meetings held with regard to “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign on August 5 and August 8 with various Government Agencies and other stakeholders that the purchase and hoisting of the National Flag of India is purely voluntary and not mandatory. However, an appeal has been made to all citizens to participate in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign for its successful implementation.
