Rain-triggered flash floods on Saturday have destroyed paddy fields belonging to 3 families at Chüzho of Akhegwo village in Nagaland’s Phek district. Seen in the picture is a farmer assessing his paddy field destroyed by flash floods after the heavy rainfall on 24th September 2022. “When we were eagerly waiting for a bountiful harvest, we found our paddy field submerged in flash floods,” said Wongu Yusah, a farmer.
Similar report of flash floods destroying paddy fields in Kilo Old village in the Satakha Subdivision of Zunheboto district was also reported last week.
