The aesthetic styling of woodworks and the notion of creation held by a carpenter are both absolutely awesome feats. Without a doubt, the woodwork is truly appealing and amazing. The fact that carpenters are skilled in the use of all exquisite methods and inventiveness adds a unique touch, and such an effort eventually calls for power, dexterity, focus, and patience.
A remarkable carpenter by the name of Aolensa Pongen, a 42-year-old father of three children from Ungma village, Mokokchung, has been involved in carpentry for more than ten years.

He stated that, in addition to his home carpentry, he worked as a carpentry helper at GMS Imrong School-Ungma Village. He continued by saying that the reason he received the job was because of his exceptional carpentry abilities.
When asked where he learned all of these incredible skills, he replied that he did not undergo any formal training. Instead, he claimed that it was his inner passion that gave him the creativity to carve the woods in distinctive ways. He discussed how he brainstormed on designs and ideas with his friends, as well as how the optimum fit is determined when working on carpentry tasks.
When asked as to whether he had a shop of his own, he replied that he had none where he could sell the items of his woodcarving. He added that he does not have a store in towns where he could swap his stuff. Instead, he mentioned that he kept them by himself at home for sale. Lensa then explained that his neighborhood shop, called ‘Neighborly’, provided him with a shelf outside the shop where he could sell his woodworks.
Additionally, Lensa disclosed to Mokokchung Times that, excluding pre-orders, he was able to support his wood appetite by earning between 10,000 and 20,000 every month. He disclosed that there were many orders, particularly from Dimapur and Mokokchung Town. He also stated that carpentry tools are used in the majority of his works and that he has sold numerous carved wooden bowls and more than 20 pieces of traditional Naga wooden plate.
One of the most significant things about Lensa is that his fascination with design propelled him to the point where many people have come to recognize him. His neighbors and close friends appreciate his artistic creations and informed Mokokchung Times that he is a very skilled and diligent man. When asked which woodworking he was more inclined to make, he said, “I’ve made so many wooden handmade pieces that I’m having problems choosing just one.”
“But if I had to choose, I’d go with the wooden hats and plates because I find making them more interesting,” Lensa remarked.
As shown in the image, the meticulously detailed wooden teapot that he skillfully repurposed costs Rs. 1,500. It allows one to look through his creations on the shelf. His incredible pieces of art include handcrafted items like wooden clocks, cups, and other hand crafted novelty items that can add flair to your interior home décor.
