Mokokchung, November 6 (MTNews): The Ministry of Education, led by Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, will celebrate ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ in schools, skill and higher educational institutions across the country, a PIB report said.

 

Last year, the government declared the 15th of November as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas,’ a day dedicated to the memory of valiant tribal freedom fighters. November 15 is also the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda who is revered as ‘Bhagwan’ by tribal communities across the country.

 

According to the report, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the AICTE, UGC, Central Universities, Private Universities, other HEIs, CBSE, KVS, NVS, and Skilling institutions, will celebrate ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ nationwide through a variety of programs such as debate competitions on the theme ‘Contribution of Janjati Heroes in Freedom Struggle,’ social activities, and so on in educational institutions.

 

“These celebrations will inspire the future generations to acknowledge their sacrifices of the tribal freedom fighters for the country, take forward their legacy and the conservation of tribal culture, art and rich tribal heritage,” the report concluded.
