Mokokchung, November 10 (MTNews): A two-day program on ‘Expansion of Horticulture Value Chain in India – Potential and Opportunities’ was conducted by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture) under Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, from November 1 to 2 at Vamnicom, National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune, India where Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmer’s welfare Narendra Singh Tomar, was present as the Guest of Honor.
In the program, three Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) from Nagaland supported by the Department of Horticulture under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER) scheme namely-Molsang Organic Pineapple Producer Company Limited, Phek Organic Large Cardamom Producer Company Limited and Chansu Organic Kiwi Producer Company Limited were awarded the Horticulture Value Chain Award 2022 for their excellence in contribution towards the farming community.
The Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland also participated and exhibited organic products from the State.The Minister was accompanied by the State Agriculture Minister, Abdul Sattar, and State Horticulture Minister, Sandipanrao Bhumre of the Government of Maharashtra.
