Organisation launches non-cooperation movement over unfulfilled demands to Nagaland government
The Chakhesang community organisation CCYO on Monday commenced the second phase of its indefinite agitation, staging peaceful picketing at three Forest Department offices in Phek district over what it described as the state government’s failure to fulfil its three-point demands.

In a statement issued on October 12, the Centre Chakhesang Youth Organisation (CCYO) said the second phase of the agitation began with picketing at the Phek Forest Office, Phek Range Office and Pfutsero Range Office.
The organisation said it had submitted a formal ultimatum to the Chief Minister, seeking action on its demands within a stipulated period. However, alleging that the demands remained unfulfilled, CCYO said it had proceeded with the next phase of its planned agitation.

According to the statement, the first phase began at midnight on October 5, when the organisation announced the lifting of the ban on hunting as part of its non-cooperation movement.
CCYO described Monday’s picketing as peaceful and disciplined, stating that the agitation was being carried out through democratic means to press the government to respond to the issues raised.
The organisation urged the state government to acknowledge its three-point demands, initiate meaningful dialogue with its representatives and take concrete steps towards resolving the matter.
It also appealed to its members, participants and the public to maintain peace and discipline throughout the agitation.
CCYO said the movement would continue until its demands received due consideration and an appropriate response from the government.
The statement was issued by CCYO president Dode Nakro and general secretary Shevoto Vezuh.
