Mokokchung, November 11 (MTNews): The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has on Friday stated that most of the teachers who were recently transferred by the government are yet to report at their new places of posting and has demanded the government to look into the matter.

AKM said that the Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland had issued the Rationalization/Re-deployment order of teachers in two different notices dated 26 October 2022 and 1 November 2022 with respect to Mokokchung district wherein the teachers were instructed to report to their new posting locations within seven days from the date of the order’s issuance.

Despite directives from the government and several student organizations, the majority of teachers have still not reported to their posting locations, AKM said, and questioned the concerned department what actions have been taken in regards to the teachers who have not yet reported for duty and what other steps needed to be taken in this regard.

Saying that the “negligence of both the teachers and the government” is affecting the students in the district, AKM added that such “non-compliance of orders and leniency of the government also reflects the state of affairs in the state.”

As such, AKM has demanded the concerned department to look into the matter with utmost urgency “so that the students are not left without education when an academic year is almost coming to a close.”
