Mokokchung, February 17 (MTNews): National People’s Party (NPP) candidate for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election from 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency, S Moangkaba Ozüküm held his candidature declaration tour at Salulamang Village, Chuchuyimlang Town and Longkong Village on Friday.
S Moangkaba Ozüküm during his declaration stated that NPP is a national party with a vision targeted towards northeast India.
The candidate highlighted his visions for the constituency if given the people’s mandate and stated that his key focus and importance would be given for road connectivity and maintenance and uplift of youths, women, widows and old age pension facilities through central government schemes.
Ozüküm continued by saying that emphasis will also be placed on the education sector, with schools being adopted as model schools and training facilities where unskilled youths will receive skill training for sustainable livelihoods. Youth will also be empowered to excel in sports and games, he said.
In addition to a sufficient water supply and the start of harvesting new conventional alternative energy on a large scale, the NPP candidate stated that scientific agriculture will be implemented to draw businesses to the area for exporting local organic produce.
“We say we want change… change can come only if we vote truthfully with a pure and conscious mind… without corruption,” Ozüküm appealed to the electorates.
Additionally, he pledged to the electorates that the Local Area Development Fund (LADF), a public fund, will be utilized completely transparently and that every expenditure would be accounted for. In this regard, he appealed to the electorates, “I am ready to commit myself to be your servant, to provide my services … my visions are genuine… I plead that you put your trust in me.”
Star campaigners from the party and former candidate, Sashimar and President, NPP 24 Angetyongpang AC, Aosanen also spoke during the tour.
