Mokokchung, February 19 (MTNews): Following a disagreement with the state BJP media cell convener over a press release on the visit of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to the state on February 17, The Nagaland Press Association (NPA) has said that it will not allow anyone to demean the sanctity of the fourth estate.
A press release from NPA President, H Chishi received here on Sunday stated that, the NPA “takes strong exception to not only providing false information but using abusive words against the media persons on February 18 by the BJP.”
“The NPA never expect such offensive attitude towards the media from the responsible political party like the BJP,” it said.
“We would like to remind the BJP that NPA will continue to defend the fourth estate and will not allow anyone to demean the sanctity of the fourth estate,” it asserted.
It may be mentioned here that the Kohima Press Club have also on Saturday written to the president of the State BJP on the matter.
