Mokokchung, February 23 (MTNews): Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party candidate from 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Tongpang Ozüküm declared his candidature at Longmisa Village on Thursday.
In his brief address, Ozüküm urged the electorate saying, “Votes from the people are very important in elections and the candidate whom the people vote for should be in the ruling party.” He added that the NDPP-BJP alliance is due to form the ruling government even if NDPP wins or losses from 24 Angetyongpang AC. Therefore, he called upon the people of the constituency to “sit in power for another 5 years” to bring about more development in the constituency. “People are speculating that the NDPP-BJP alliance will form the Government. We need development. Thus, it is paramount for us to be part of the ruling government,” he said.
Stressing on equal development and equal focus, the NDPP candidate expressed his visions for the development of the constituency and creation of an “Angetyongpang Development Board” to address the grievances of the constituency stating that all the 12 units in 24 Angetyongpang AC are equally important and all together strengthens the constituency. “I respect all 12 units under 24 Angetyongpang; besides, there is victory when there is equal blessing,” he said.
During the program, short speeches were delivered by Aolepden Ex-MLA, CEB, NDPP, Nagaland and BJP Mokokchung District respectively. The program was chaired by Dr Imtinungba, VP, NDPP, 24 Angetyongpang AC.
