Mokokchung, 7 May (MTNews): The 3rd season of Mokokchung Friday League (MFL) kicked off at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung with 6 teams in participation.

While delivering a brief note on MFL season 3, Dr Lanu Walling stated that MFL was a ‘fun league’ where football lovers converge together to meet and befriend strangers. He said that the league belongs to no one, and that the management is a concerted effort of all the players and well-wishers. He, therefore, called upon all participants to collectively own the league. Dr Lanu further added that MFL was for a time of fitness, at the same time being role models for the younger generation in the field of football. The MFL is exclusively for players above the age of 35.

Earlier, a minute of silence was observed for ‘peace & tranquility’ in Manipur.

The opening function was chaired by Zulumanen and the invocation was said by Acha while a song was presented by Temsusangla. Oath taking was administered by the MFL convenor, Imcharen. The inaugural function was graced by proprietor of Anuradha Hardware, Mohan as the Guest Match Patron.
