Kohima, 13 May (MTNews): Advisor to Chief Minister & Chairman of IDAN, Abu Metha told the Nagaland Flower Growers Society that State Government under the guidance of the Chief Minister would formulate some programs and initiatives to give a boost to the industry and help increase livelihood programs for flower growers of Nagaland.

Metha also observed that there is vast potential for the flower industry in Nagaland to contribute towards the State economy and also project a positive image of Nagaland to the outside world. He said this during his visit at the exhibition and sale of flowers under the aegis of the Nagaland Flower Growers Society in Kohima today.
While interacting with flower growers, Metha stated that Naga people, especially women, are so passionate about flowers and almost everybody has a green thumb. He hoped that with collective efforts of the state government and all stakeholders, some concrete initiatives and strategies would materialize in the near future. Metha also held consultative meetings with the society to discuss and address matters and challenges of the flower industry and also to better understand the dynamics of the local environment.
