Dimapur, 2 August (MTNews): A consultative meeting held on 28 July at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur, brought together representatives from the Nagaland Foothills Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC), the Apex Tribal Hohos, and Legislators. During the meeting, participants adopted several resolutions aimed at expediting the much-awaited Foothills Road Project and tackling pressing issues affecting the region.

 

During the meeting, they resolved to urge upon the Nagaland State Government to positively take up the Foothills Road Project through North East Council (NEC) in consonance with the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Resolution dated 22 September 2022.

 

The meeting viewed that due to lack of proper supervision and co-ordination among the agencies, many projects in the State have not been executed robustly and as a result of which innocent public are paying heavy price with tears and sweat. Therefore, to mitigate such issues and ensure the robust implementation of projects, it was unanimously resolved that a “Tripartite Agreement” on conventions be signed between the NFHRCC, concerned departments, and executing firms before the commencement of works, both under NEC and Mega Project.

 

The meeting also resolved that in order to strengthen the committee and for the smooth initiative of the ‘Historic Project’, the Apex tribal hohos has empowered the NFHRCC to exercise for the replacement and appointment of the committee members based on their commitments.

 

The NFHRCC also expressed their deepest condolence to the family members of Late L. Phukato Shohe, Proprietor of M/S L.Phukato Shohe & Sons, the contractor firm of the Doyang Bridge at Governor’s Camp, Liphanyan on the Foothills Road who was responsible for successfully completing the construction of the Doyang Bridge.
