Kohima, 10 August (MTNews): A total of 96 dengue cases have been reported so far in Nagaland including seven Japanese Encephalitis cases. According to an AIR Kohima report, State Programme Officer of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), State Health Department, Dr Neisakho Kere said that out of the 96 cases, Merapani in Wokha reported five positive cases three cases were reported in Mon and the remaining cases were reported from Dimapur district.

 

Dr Kere said that Mokokchung, which has a history of dengue cases, reported zero cases. He also informed that no deaths were reported from the confirmed 96 cases. He said seven cases of Japanese Encephalitis have been reported in the state. He also said that the department is taking all necessary precautionary measures such as flogging and creating awareness among the community.

 

Dr Kere emphasized the importance of community cooperation in eliminating stagnant water to prevent mosquito breeding.
