Mokokchung, 19 August (MTNews): Following the heavy gunfight on 18 August 2023 in Sipijang village, situated near Thowai Kuki village in Ukhrul District, where three Kuki villagers were allegedly killed by the combined forces of KYKL (Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup) and MNRF (Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front), the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has strongly condemned the incident for taking place within the jurisdiction of Nagalim and has labeled it an “unwarrantable intrusion.”
“The MNRF doesn’t represent the interests and welfare of Nagas in Manipur, as they are sponsored by organizations based in the Manipur valley,” stated the NSCN-IM.
The NSCN-IM further emphasized that under no circumstances do the Nagas want the Meitei-Kuki-Zo violence to spread into Naga areas.
“No ethnic blood should be shed in Naga areas due to the Meitei-Kuki-Zo ethnic conflicts,” the statement added.
