Mokokchung, 01 October (MTNews): Kopele Tepa, Founder and Proprietor of Bumblebee Inclusive School, Kohima, has received the NCPEDP-Mphasis Universal Design Award 2023 in the category of Working Professionals. The award ceremony was held in New Delhi on 28 September 2023. This was informed in a press release by the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Nagaland, Kohima.
The NCPEDP Universal Design Award is given out every year to those who have been doing exemplary work towards the cause of accessibility and thus ensuring a life of equality and dignity for people with disabilities. The awards are limited to work in India. This year with over 140 nominations from all over India, a total of 14 recipients were selected.
The awards are given to 3 persons each under 4 categories: Category A: Persons with Disabilities; Category B: Working Professionals; Category C: Companies and organisations; NCPEDP-Mphasis Javed Abidi Public Policy Award; Jury Appreciation Award.
The 6 member jury for award comprised of: Arvind Gupta, NCPEDP Trustee and Head & Co founder of Digital India Foundation, Sarojini Subbiah CSR head, Mphasis, Shilpi Kapoor, CEO, Barrier Break, Anshu Gupta, Founder-Director, Goonj, Nidhi Bhasin, CEO, NASSCOM Foundation, and Rama Lakshmi, Senior Editor, The Print.
