Kohima, 27 October (MTNews): As of 26 October 2023, Nagaland has a total of 2,899 confirmed dengue cases. The outbreak has raised concerns among health officials, with Dimapur and Mon districts reporting the highest number of cases.
In a press interaction held at the Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) held today at the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, the Principal Director and the Mission Director of the DHFW shed light on the ongoing dengue outbreak scenario in Nagaland. The officials provided the latest data on the number of dengue cases across different districts of Nagaland
Dimapur has been severely impacted by the dengue outbreak, with a staggering 1,398 confirmed cases. Mon district is the second-worst affected region, with 933 confirmed cases and one reported dengue-related death.
Dengue cases have been reported in several other districts of Nagaland, although in lower numbers. The state’s capital, Kohima, has confirmed 141 cases, while Wokha has reported 197 cases, Mokokchung 46 cases, Kiphire 59 cases, Peren 47 cases, Phek 23 cases, Zunheboto 6 cases, and Longleng 17 cases. Tuensang, which includes Noklak, has reported only one case.
The statistics include 31 cases classified under “others,” which notably mention Assam, a neighboring state.
