During the stall launch, Chairman Ovung emphasized that this was a vital component of the annual Tokhü Emong program. He highlighted how it provided a platform for local entrepreneurs to exhibit their innovative businesses and promote the sale of indigenous items. Ovung also shared the news that Lotha Hoho is celebrating its 100th anniversary on November 6th.

During his address, he explained that Lotha Hoho was previously known as Lotha Tribal Council (LTC) and had subsequently changed its name over time. He pointed out that the renaming from LTC to LH was to align with the organization’s historical transition, as LTC was in English, and LH now represents the same apex organization of the Lotha community. Ovung also stressed that LH, as the apex body, works exclusively for the interests and welfare of the Lotha Community.

Ovung also informed that this year, Tokhü Emong is set to span six days and nights, running from November 2 to 7 and encouraged people to celebrate and enjoy responsibly. He also emphasized the importance of forgiveness and merrymaking, as Tokhü Emong signifies these values.

As part of the stall launch, Renpithung Kikon, the convenor of the stall committee, provided insights into the purpose and usage of the stalls. The ceremony was further enhanced by a dedicatory prayer offered by Lichumo Tsanglao, the Pastor of Elumyo Baptist Church, with Lirhonthung E. Kithan chairing the program.

The Tokhü Emong celebration promises a week of cultural revelry and community spirit, offering a platform for local businesses and reflecting the rich heritage of the Lotha community.
